Angela's Magic Lesson - The Reapening

Angela's dress grew longer and longer, spilling onto the floor as a dark cloak. The torn, jagged ends took on a life of their own, slithering back towards Angela and pushing her upwards. As her living robes twisted around her skeletal body, the room was filled with the sickly sounds of grinding bone and cracking joints. Angela's teeth rattled as she tried to scream, but the sounds were drowned out by a strange pounding in her head. Soon her bony feet clicked back onto the stone floor, but her skull reached ever closer to the ceiling. Her hair poured from her hood a shocking white. With a final pop of her spine, Angela stood still and imposing. She felt no joy or relief that she had grown to fit her clothes, but she knew it felt right. Her garments swayed in some sourceless breeze. They briefly blew open, but she made no attempt to cover herself. "Just ribs," she said in a low, raspy whisper.


She clutched a wooden handle in her phalanges, but she saw that rather than a wicker broom head, it housed a massive curved blade. A small hourglass hung by her side from a chain. She had dilly-dallied in the archives long enough. There was work to be done.
