Angela's Magic Lesson - Toonarooned

What was that strange music Angela was hearing?  It seemed like every move she made was accompanied by some kind of squeaking or tooting.  She looked to her left, a lone violin string slid to a high note.  She looked to her right, and a trombone slurred down to a low note from some unseen orchestra pit.  A silly as she knew it was, she bent over and checked under her legs with nothing to show for it but an earful of muted trumpets.

The only way she was ever going to find this sound was to outsmart it.  Looking forward innocuously and mouthing a whistle, she reached behind her back and grasped at whatever was there.  What she produced was not the tiny conductor she was hoping for, but an oversized wooden mallet.  Her mouth bent upwards into a smile as she felt an overwhelming need to cause mischief.  The magic spell she stumbled upon may have taken her voice, but her new friend was sure to do all the talking from now on.

She tiptoed merrily away to the sound of pizzicato strings.
