Angeline took off from the archives ready for battle, but no one really wanted to fight her. She could say she was the queen all she wanted to, but no one would listen to her. Angeline sat down on a fountain feeling depressed that no one would take her seriously, how could she call herself a conqueror if there was no one to oppose her? It would mean she didn't lose, but she didn't win either.
Then a man around her age came up to her and noticed she had been crying.
"Are you all right, miss?" He asked.
Angeline looked up to see who the man was. She didn't recognize him but he was red-haired with a beard slowly growing on his face. He appeared close to Angeline in age.
"I'm-I'm fine, thank you, it's just no one around here is taking me seriously. All I want to do is conquer Underborough, but they all just brush me off." Angeline explained to the man, not detecting a hint of irony in her current situation.
"Why do you want to conqueror it?" The man asked.
"Because that's what I am, that's who I am, Queen Angeline the Conqueror." Angeline answered triumphantly.
"Well I knew another conqueror like yourself. I'm somewhat of a storyteller you see, It was in the time of the middle ages..." the storyteller began.
Angeline sat there on the fountain heavily invested in the story. The tale went on for what seemed like forever until he finally stopped.
"Wow, that was amazing." Angeline complimented him. "Do you have another one?" Angeline asked, insistent.
"I don't know, maybe you should go through the Underborough archives to look up more stories," the storyteller suggested.
"Oh, I was already there. There wasn't really anything." Angeline answered.
The storyteller looked surprised at this.
"You were in the archives?"
"Yes, but there was nothing in there for me."
"I may have another story for you then. This is the tale of a young boy who ventured into the archives for knowledge, only to find himself transforming into something else entirely..." The storyteller went on.
Angeline didn't know why, but as this storyteller went on, she felt the two of them shared something very special. All she did know was when he finished, she would ask him for another story.
