"Are you sure this is going to work?" Angela shouted down to the basket directly below her.
Angela's experimentation with magic spells had caused quite the stir at Underborough High School. A janitor finally heard shouts coming from the floor, and was shocked to find a student taking up nearly the entire room (and still growing!), yet floating against the ceiling! With no way to deflate her, a crew had to cut holes in all three floors, as well as the roof. A large net was prepared to keep the young witch from floating away.
A voice called back from the basket. "I never said whether or not this would do anything besides keep you from drifting into oblivion, Angela."
Winifred Pale had agreed to keep an eye on Angela, and rigging her up as a hot air balloon seemed the most logical method.
"Look, your impromptu balloon launch from the basement rubbed a lot of folks in the district the wrong way," Winifred continued. "That building had a lot of historic value. It's best that we get away for awhile and just lay low-- sorry, poor turn of phrase."
"Yeah, I'm real sorry about the building. But I don't want to be a balloon forever! I thought you had a plan!"
"This excursion is the plan, Angela. Best case scenario, we sail to distant lands and find someone who can reverse the spell."
"What's the worst-case scenario?"
"I fulfill my dream of sailing around the underworld in 80 days, of course!"
"I thought your dream was to conquer the human world."
"I have multiple dreams, Angela dear."
