EDIT: added one more convention
Spring is here, and with it comes robins, warm weather and comic cons! And I'll be visiting a few robins promoting my comic book, The Underburbs. Here's the spring schedule, copied directly from where I typed it before in the Underburbs' journal:
Boston Comic Con, April 21-22
Held for the second year in the Hynes Convention Center, this is where we'll be debuting Underburbs #12: Death Rides a Hobby Horse. As always, we'll be doing sketches, saying hello to all the con regulars, and having an all-around good time. You should have a good time, too. This is one of the places where you can do so.
Maine Comic Arts Festival, May 20
This one was a close call. We kinda didn't quite remember to register for this show right away, and got put on a waiting list for a table. But one rainy Palm Sunday, I got an email stating that we were moved to the top of said list. So now we have a table, and unlike the starving grasshopper of fable, we will never have to learn our lesson about procrastination. But I did learn one thing: if it's that hard to grab table space in Maine, then this show is getting wildly popular, as well it should. If you don't know about MECAF, then let me lay it on you: it's held in a fancy new convention center in downtown Portland, and it's filled with indie comic artists. No dealers. It's always a good time, and I was going to spend all year being really bummed if we were to miss it. So don't miss it, or you'll be bummed too.
Philadelphia Comic Con, June 1-3
As of the typing of this journal, we only just sent the check to the fine people at Wizard. But you and I both know that Wizard puts on humongous shows with sprawling Artist Alleys, so getting in shouldn't be a problem. It's this kind of premature action and glaring hubris that got us where we are today! So come down to the Philadelphia Convention Center on the first weekend in June, and justify our arrogance! Hm. Not sure if that's the angle I wanted to go with this. Oh well, I'm just shooting from the hip here. Typing whatever comes to mind. Anyway, on to the next con which is
GraniteCon, June 10
In 2012, we hit New Hampshire later than ever before! Seriously, this one's always been in May. Anyway, GraniteCon, held at the Radisson in Downtown Manchester, is a small show with a big heart. No other show packs as many different forms of entertainment in such a small space and lives to tell the tale.
So that's that until the fall! See you at the-- oh, dammit, did I say that I was going to visit robins? I meant comic cons. That's not even a simple mistake. It seems more like a written joke. And it's not even too late to change it, I mean, here I am typing about it. Why am I clicking Pubish Ent

Quarmissions no More Missions?
I’m going back to work at the frame shop, but I’d still like to continue taking commissions because I’m making too much mo— ummm having too much fun! I’m going to wait a few days before I post any slots because I’m not sure what the socially distanced version of my job looks lIke yet. (As I mentioned in my status update, I won’t be working with customers at all and just putting frames together. I’m living the dream, boys!) Prices and rules below. I’m still working through the wait list from April, so please don’t reply to this with commission ideas unless they’re really good. Angela's Magic Lessons - $20 Epilogues - $25 (this refers only to the ones featured directly after an AML ending. Follow-ups to epilogues are considered pin-ups) Character Pin-ups - $40 (+$10/each additional character) Sequences (4 steps, no extra panels) - $100 Comic Pages (no more than 7 panels) - $150 per page --- I'd also like to lay down a few ground rules just to ensure I can give as many people as
Quarmissions: UPDATED SLOTS 5/23/2020
Welcome to Wave Four! Here are the next five slots, selected from my wait list. If I haven't contacted you yet, I will get to you. But for now, I'll be contacting these five fine folks. I'm just listing them alphabetically. I'll contact each of you once I'm ready to work on your specific piece.

Quarmission Slots!
Okay, so that big illustration job is on hold, leaving me open for some commissions! (Yayyyy?)
You may have noticed a bit more activity here lately. Some of them were things that I had in the works for a while, some are just people who reached out to me. The details aren't important. What's important is that I could be at home for the long haul, and I'll have time to draw when I'm not playing Animal Crossing.
I'm not exactly open yet, as I don't want to get swamped, but here's what's on the docket so far. (In no particular order)
~Mabus-Azathoth (https://www.deviantart.com/mabus-azathoth) - sequence
:iconkyurem2424: - Magic Lesson(s), epilogue, pin-up
:icongnome-oo: - Magic L
So This Sucks (but not quite everything?)
This whole COVID-19 thing is really starting to hit me now. I'm incredibly grateful that none of my friends or family have come down with it, but the unbearable feeling of uncertainty about the future is like nothing I've ever experienced. My day job has temporarily laid everyone off, so we can apply for unemployment.
The silver lining in all of this is that I suppose I'll have more time to draw. I'm not quite ready to open up commissions just yet, as I've actually landed a professional illustration job! It has a pretty tight window, so I'll need to focus entirely on that one project for the next two weeks. I can't say any more about it beca

I'll be at Comic-Con. Gonna get me some Underburbs since the Harvard Square store seems to always be out!
