Angela felt a sudden extra weight on the top of her head, in addition all the new hair growing both from her scalp and her face. It was a wide-brimmed hat that came to a point.

"A witch's hat?" she thought aloud. "No, of course not. I'm a wizard, after all!"

She examined herself. The proof was all there. She wore wizardly robes instead of a witch's dress. She held a staff in her hand instead of a broomstick. And the advanced spells she was reciting were surely for no inexperienced little witch.

"How ridiculous of me to have a moment's doubt that I'm a wizard," Angela said, laughing to herself. "It's as plain as the beard on my face!"
