The Underborough High Screaming Ninnies were enjoying the most successful season in the school's history, and that was due in no small part to the new cheerleading squad. Before their sudden appearance, it hadn't really occurred to anyone to get excited for the 0-whatever Ninnies, or even to go to the games at all. But one new student changed all that. Angela Morgan spent practically all of her time between classes cartwheeling down the hallways with unwavering enthusiasm for the school's killing team. By the night of the game, she could be found leaping and shouting on the sidelines, joined by a blonde, pigtailed Winifred Pale. No one in the crowd thought to question the reserved vampire's change in appearance and demeanor. They were too caught up in the spirit of what became the Ninnies' first victory in a time too long for even much of the faculty to remember.
The next day, the students showed their appreciation for the team. But even moreso for the cheerleading squad, which had somehow doubled overnight. Again, no one questioned it. No one cared. Strutting down the hallways in full uniform, the girls were practically rock stars at Underborough High. Angela was the girl-next-door, Win was the rich sophisticate with a heart of gold, Shel Debunkle was the brains of the group, and Jezebel "Jezzie" Brimston was the 'bad girl.'
After the weekend, Angela came to school with a transfer student. A distant cousin named Ro, she told everyone. This introduction seemed to elicit giggles from both Angela and Ro, which the students just dismissed as 'some cousin thing.' Despite her alleged distance, she came to Underborough High with seemingly full knowledge of the cheer squad's repertoire. The night before the homecoming game, Shel noted that they were one member short of a human/monster pyramid. Angela suggested that maybe Win should recruit her distant cousin Abby to the squad.

I didn't think the cheerleader thread could get any better. I was wrong. So, so wrong.
